Capabilities:
The MDH has the medical equipment and supplies to establish a temporary hospital with up to 184 beds when completed if funding allowed. The unit includes:
- Emergency Department with 11 treatment beds and 10 monitored holding beds which have the capability to evaluate, treat and stabilize medical and surgical cases, including trauma and burns.
- 12 bed ICU which can provide adult and pediatric ventilator, body temperature management, continuous EKG and other physiological monitoring support.
- 6 bed Intermediate Care Unit.
- 6 Operating Rooms with the capability for surgical procedures including general, gynecological, orthopedic, thoracic, neurosurgical, urological, and burns.
- Surgery Processing Unit that includes ultrasound cleaners and steam as well as cold sterilization capabilities.
- 6 bed Surgical Recovery Unit.
- 30 bed OB/GYN/Pediatric Unit.
- 128 Medical/Surgical beds in 32 bed increments.
- Diagnostic capabilities include: digital x-ray, 12-lead EKG, ultrasound, pulse oximetry, expired gas CO2, tidal volume and expiratory force volumes, Doppler vascular measurements, core body temperatures, intra-compartmental pressure and intra-ocular pressure.
- Laboratory/Blood Bank services include: electrolyte panel, glucose, hemoglobin/hematocrit, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), urinalysis, white blood count with differential, Troponins, Gram's stain, guaiac test, blood type and cross match, prothrombin time, partial thromboplastin time, fibrinogen, beta human chorionic gonadotropin, and arterial blood gas.
- Radiology services include portable digital X-Ray units and a complete Phillips Digital Radiological unit with C-arm.
- Pharmacy with automatic pill counters, mixing equipment, laminar flow hood, and refrigerators.
- Support services include facility logistic maintance units, water pumping and purification equipment, gray water and potable water bladders, staff shower unit, generators, light towers, temperature controlled equipment/supply and staff sleeping trailers.
